L’alchimista del gioiello

Ci sono oggetti che ti colpiscono a prima vista perché sono fuori dal comune. E’ il caso dell’anello che indosso in questa foto: realizzato con una lega di oro, bronzo e argento, ha una scheggia di lapislazzuli che sembra sospesa nella materia. Una delle particolarità di questa creazione è la mutevolezza. In altre parole il colore del metallo si modifica nel tempo acquistando riflessi sfavillanti e sfaccettature inaspettate che lo rendono sempre più bello.

The alchemist of the jewel. There are items that strike you at first glance because they are out of the ordinary. This is the case of the ring I am wearing in this picture: it’s made with an alloy of gold and silver, bronze. It has a shard of lapislazuli that looks suspended. One of the peculiarities of this creation is the changeability. In other words, the color of the metal changes over time with sparkling reflections and unexpected facets that make it even more beautiful.

Sono andata a trovare l’artista che lo ha realizzato, Antonio Piluso, nel suo atelier Pilgiò di Milano in via Caminadella. In questo luogo, che ricorda più una galleria d’arte che una gioielleria, si respira il lavoro costante di ricerca. E’ lui che ha inventato l’oro muto, un trattamento particolare di ossidazione che permette a questo metallo di essere amalgamato anche ad altri minerali e a inglobare direttamente le pietre preziose.

I went to find the artist who made it, Antonio Piluso, in his atelier Pilgiò in Milan, Via Caminadella. In this place, which is more reminiscent of an art gallery than a jewelry store, you breathe the constant research work. He invented the dumb gold, special treatment of oxidation which allows, to this precious metal, to be mixed with other minerals and to incorporate the gemstones.
