Io sono il Sarto | Moroni a Bergamo
Accademia Carrara, Bergamo - Until 28 February 2016
A walk in Bergamo in this period provides an opportunity to admire, in the Pinacoteca Carrara, one of the most intense portraits by Giovan Battista Moroni, "THE TAILOR", coming from the National Gallery in London. Looking at this picture, you realize as a face and a gesture focus the reality, the strength, the tenacity and the strength of the people of those places. Because the appearance that has always fascinated me is that the faces described by Gian Battista are still recognizable along the streets of the city of Brighella. The tailor, as all the figures that appear in his paintings, are current, present everywhere. And this happens even for figures by Moretto, Savoldo, Romanino and Brescianino, Lombard artists extraordinarily skillful and refined in the definition of the tissues, the objects and the most minute details.
