Giotto. L’Italia
Palazzo Reale, Milano - untill 16 gennaio 2016
At the end of the thirteenth century Dante already quoted Giotto in his verses. The artist remained in Italy, and made his own the lessons of the ancestors, making them modern. In a fine show of the Palazzo Reale a Milano, masterfully curated by Mario Bellini in setting, this is clearly acknowledges. Giotto always manages to give solidity to the figures, attributing to them an architectural character of classic matrix. Visiting this exhibition is a unique opportunity to see up close his creations. How much humanity in looks, how expressive hand gestures in paintings by the Italian genius.
