Simbolismo. Arte in Europa dalla Belle Époque alla grande Guerra
Palazzo Reale, Milano – until june 6, 2016
This rich exhibition devoted to the European Symbolism striking for the variety of the exhibits and the number of authors present. But above all, Alberto Martini is the artist who more than any other has astonished me by the extraordinary nature of the sign and the power of storytelling. His self-portrai brings to mind the name of Albrecht Dürer, an extraordinary painter and engraver of the Renaissance, which Martini studies and reinterprets in a contemporary way. You could say that Martini ahead of its time, paints the eccentric fantasies of the surrealists.
