Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Milan - until February 14, 2016
From my point of view, the exhibition dedicated to Wildt is one of the best that Milan has recently offered. All the works devour the eye of the visitor because already the light and the space absorb and reshape everything. But what caught my attention is the ability of Wildt to abstract every kind of shape, leading to a simplification of nervous and contemporary taste. And, at times, it seemed to regain some of the mannerist figures hallucinatory that we find on Pontormo or on Bronzino or, again, on Rosso Fiorentino. You could say that the pleasure of the sophisticated technical of Wildt elegantly joins to a powerful ability to recreate nature, and charging it with momentum, vitality and sensitivity.
